I MADE Progress... and a To Do List FREEBIE!

Oh Tara, your Monday Made Its DO motivate me to accomplish things!

Of course I MADE coffee this morning... but you already knew that.
And I MADE a list (more on that later)
And I MADE a commitment to do some more work on the garage...

True Confessions lie ahead... Okay BloggyWorld, here's what it looked like when I started...
Well, it was a little worse because I had to move some stuff to have enough room to take a picture. And yep, it's (almost) all mine. And, yep, it's (almost) all school stuff.

And now, after four days, and some serious efforts at categorizing, it looks like this...

So... I have MADE progress... I have categories: Math, Literacy, BOOKS, and Uh, Beats Me!
However, there's still no room for the car... and I still can't access the things I need. So, more work lies ahead...

Now back to what I MADE to help this tasks--and other tasks--a little easier...

I make To Do Lists daily--sometimes more than one. Sometimes my To Do Lists include making a To Do List!  So I am sharing the one that has helped me get things done... You can get it HERE or just click on the list. I used a sweet new font called cinnamon cake (http:/www.dafont.com/cinnamon-cake.font).

Here they are in use... the pink ones are mine and the green one is for the Hubs! Our tasks are gradually getting completed before I return to school.

Of course, my favorite part is crossing items off the list! Hopefully, having some of the "little details" out of the way will help get this year off to a smooth start.

And Happy List Making to you too!

  2. Seeing your garage makes me feel so much better. I too have that much stuff and I just love knowing that I am not the only one out there hauling that much teaching stuff around. It absolutely looks like you made progress and I'm in awe of all your storage bins. Hmmm... I might need some more. :)

  3. Hi Kim,

Thanks so much. My brain looks like your garage. My car has stuff in it, my back room...and I am afraid how I have left my classroom. Thank goodness I don't have a garage. I printed out your list in different colours and I am going to assign it to different subjects so I can break everything down.

  4. Kim,

I think I would need to make 89 copies of this for all of the stuff I have to do before school starts! :) And how come my list of things to do just keeps getting longer instead of shorter???

I am headed to your post on the "getting to know you" activity so I can print 4 more for all of my groups!! This is going to be a great way for them to talk with each other and begin to feel comfortable as well as have a little fun in the process! I think I'll sit down with one of my groups and play, too!

  8. Your Made-It Mondays have inspired me all summer. I hope you have a great year. I am sending my husband to look at pictures of your garage next time I hear a complaint about "too much teacher stuff." I am excited to check in on your site all year. Best of luck

  9. I was just thinking yesterday that I need to make my hubby some to-do lists if anything is going to get tackled right now. (And btw - your garage looks like my basement ... only we use the basement on a daily basis, so it's not a good thing at all ... hence the to-do list) ;). Enjoy your weekend, sweet Kim!!!

  10. How fun - lists and sublists . . . and that you problem-solved so beautifully with your garage (which seems to be hoarding stuff!). . . can you come and do ours next??
