January Currently

How I LOVE Farley's Linky Parties over at Oh Boy Fourth Grade.  It's like going to an Open House, but not having to bring (or spell) any hors d'oeuvres!

This round has been particularly fun for two reasons.... First, I have enjoyed looking at everyone's chosen "word."  Second, there's an added incentive of what may simply be the coolest--or at least the quietest--pencil sharpener on the planet!

If you haven't linked up, head on over to Farley's... just click on the big ol' January Currently picture.  It'll take you right there!  And while you're there, explore some other bloggers' January offerings.  And then, take a peek at some of Farley's other posts.  There's a reason she has OVER A THOUSAND FOLLOWERS!  (Congrats, Farley!)

Happy January!

  10. Kim,
Thanks for the comment! I think my kids really enjoyed The Cay and we are working on our deep thinking about it more tomorrow. I'm having trouble with students finishing the reading assigned by the day that it is due. Any thoughts?
Also, I was browsing the web in search of some ideas for our upcoming book and it got me thinking that it would be really neat to come up with a class book/project/activity to collaborate on from California to New York. The first thing that comes to mind is GoogleDocs or even blogging with the kids. I would love to do something like that if you wanted to. I would have to do it in April after the State Assessment since sadly it really is very "high stakes" but just an idea!
